One of the hidden falls of Palisade creek.

August 26th: First recorded summer descent of Palisade Falls.

Details: A 130 -foot waterfall that pours over one of the few basalt columns in Montana. Stunning, and dramatic. Fantastic for a morning or evening canyon. This falls is famous for ice climbing during the winter months.

Notes: There are upper falls located just above the main falls. They have been spotted but require significant effort for minimal gain. This incudes 2+ rappels to 40 feet.

It was a good a year in the 406. We hope you got out in the canyons just as much as we did. There were a many of challenges and mysteries that were unfolded this year. With 9 first recorded descents and many more spotted, it was a year of adventure. Let us fill you in!
